Lazio vs Pisa: Match Preview

21 May 2026, 13:18 Match: 2026-05-24 13:00 UTC Amanda White
Quick Summary

Lazio host Pisa in a Serie A dead rubber on the final day. Despite heavy injuries, the hosts remain strong favorites against already-relegated visitors. Boulaye Dia could feature prominently in attack.

Lazio face Pisa in what amounts to a dead rubber for both sides on the final day of the 2025/2026 Serie A campaign. The home side sit ninth with 51 points after 37 games while the visitors have already dropped into the bottom spot on 18 points and face certain relegation. That 0-0 draw between them back in October tells you little about how this one might unfold.

Injuries have thinned both squads. Lazio miss Kenneth Taylor, Nuno Tavares and Nicolò Rovella through suspension along with Mattia Zaccagni, Patric, Ivan Provedel and Edoardo Motta. Pisa will be without Matteo Tramoni, Francesco Coppola and the long-term absentee Daniel Denoon. Those absences could open up space for the likes of Boulaye Dia and Tijjani Noslin to make an impact in the Lazio attack.

The expected lineups show Lazio lining up in a 4-3-3 with Alessio Furlanetto in goal behind Adam Marušić, Mario Gila, Oliver Provstgaard and Elseid Hysaj. Toma Bašić, Danilo Cataldi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru sit in midfield while Matteo Cancellieri joins Dia and Noslin up top. Pisa go with a 3-5-2 featuring Adrian Semper, Arturo Calabresi, Raúl Albiol and Simone Canestrelli in defence with Mehdi Léris, Michel Aebischer, Malthe Højholt, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and Samuele Angori across the middle. Filip Stojilković and Stefano Moreo lead the line.

Moreo tops Pisa's scoring chart with six goals but their overall attack has managed just 25 goals across the season while shipping 69 at the other end. Lazio's top scorers sit on five for Gustav Isaksen and four each for Cancellieri, Noslin and Pedro. That defensive fragility for the visitors suggests Lazio should find openings even if they rotate heavily for this dead match.

Recent results have left Lazio in mid-table after a string of defeats that included the Derby della Capitale loss to Roma. They still carry enough quality to dominate possession and territory here. Pisa have little incentive beyond pride and that often shows in final-day fixtures when relegation is already confirmed.

Recommended Bets

Lazio win @1.35 — superior squad depth and home advantage against a side with nothing to play for should prove decisive.

Under 3.5 goals @1.85 — both teams average low-scoring games and key attackers remain sidelined or rested.

Stefano Moreo anytime goal @3.40 — leads Pisa scoring with six goals and will look to end the season on a personal high.

Odds tend to shorten closer to kickoff — lock in value now.
